THE TEAM-ADNI STUDY: TOGETHER EXPLORING AGING MINDS

Helping researchers better understand memory and aging

Learn More

TEAM-ADNI

is a research study about memory and health in older adults.

We are working with select health, community, and older adult centers to invite people to join. TEAM-ADNI is part of the ADNI (Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative) study.

TEAM-ADNI and ADNI help researchers discover new ways to detect, diagnose, and treat Alzheimer’s disease.

Who TEAM-ADNI is looking for

Right now, we are signing up people who get care at our partner health, community, and older adult centers. You may have received a phone call, text message, email, or letter in the mail inviting you to learn more and consider joining.

You may be able to join the study if you:

To talk with a TEAM-ADNI staff member to learn more: call ###-###-#### or email [email protected].

What happens if I join?

If you join the study you will take part in study visits in person at a clinic and/or by phone. The study visits include:

You can learn some of your results, which will tell you about your health. Some results can tell you if you are at a higher or lower risk for developing Alzheimer’s. If you have memory and thinking difficulties, you may learn whether Alzheimer’s might be causing it.

Study staff will share general tips and information about brain health.

You will need a study partner. A study partner is someone who is close to you (like a family member or friend) and can answer questions about your memory and daily activities. You should have about 2 hours of contact with this person each week (by phone, in-person, or online).

Your study partner will complete two surveys, each about one hour or less: once at the start of the study and another a year later.

If you qualify and take part:

Participants will not be asked to take any medications/treatments, or make any lifestyle changes.

Participant privacy is very important to us. ADNI shares data with researchers without information that can be used to identify participants.

Why join?

Make a difference.

Help researchers learn more about brain health, memory, and aging. Fight Alzheimer’s disease, and contribute to the ADNI study

Learn about your health.

You can get some of your test results, which can tell you more about your health. Study staff will share general tips and information about brain health.

Learn about your Alzheimer’s risk.

If it’s available in your area and you choose to have a  brain scan (called an amyloid PET scan), you can also get those results.

These results can tell you if you are at a higher or lower risk for developing Alzheimer’s. If you have memory and thinking difficulties, you may learn whether Alzheimer’s might be causing it. Brain imaging scans may not be available for all participants.
